Visual Speed and RPM calculator

Notes:

  1. Consult the numbers below the gauges or the readout in the upper right for the actual RPM and MPH for your selections. The gauges are 40 years old and aren't very accurate!
  2. The torque converter efficiency calculation is a bit rudimentary. I'm only adjusting the revs up based on the percentage set with the slider control. If you have any ideas on how to improve it let me know.
  3. The tire profile panel calculates the height of an unloaded tire. Ideally we would use the height of a loaded tire to get a better result. The difference is small, but you may wish to drop the tire height slider a tenth to a quarter inch for a more accurate result.
  4. I've limited the tire diameter to 18" maximum size. I think 20+ inch wheels and tires look like puke on a classic muscle car so I'm not going to enable anybody wishing to perpepuate this travesty upon their car. Sorry!
  5. It's a Mopar only deal right now. The transmission gear ratios are a 1968 spec A-833 and 727 Tourqeflite. You can always fill in the 'custom' fields if you know the ratios for your specific vehicle.
